Home Round Awaits GYTR GRT Yamaha at Misano

The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team returns to action this weekend (12–14 June) for its home round at the Misano World Circuit in Italy, as the seventh round of the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship gets underway.

Following a positive outing at Aragón, Remy Gardner heads to Misano determined to build further momentum. The Australian also completed a productive two-day test at the Italian venue a few weeks ago, where he found encouraging pace and a strong feeling with his Yamaha R1. Gardner has enjoyed success at Misano in the past, including a front-row start in 2024, and is eager to translate that confidence into a strong weekend on Italian soil.

For Stefano Manzi, the Misano round represents a special occasion as he prepares for his first WorldSBK home event. The Italian rider has previously enjoyed strong results at the circuit and showed promising pace during the recent Misano test as well as signs of progress in Aragón. Extra motivated to perform in front of his home crowd, the reigning 2025 WorldSSP Champion is aiming to continue his development and deliver a competitive weekend.

The WorldSBK riders will once again be joined by the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team for the fourth round of the season. Championship leader Maria Herrera arrives at Misano looking to extend her advantage at the top of the standings, while Natalia Rivera is eager to build on her strong record at the circuit, where she previously achieved notable results in the European Championship.

Following Friday's free practice sessions, the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team will contest Superpole qualifying at 11:15 local time on Saturday before Race 1 gets underway at 15:30. Sunday's schedule features the Superpole Race at 11:10, followed by Race 2 at 14:00.

Remy Gardner: "I can't wait to get back on track and race at such an iconic circuit. It's also the team's home round, and we'll have plenty of support from the fans, which gives us extra motivation to put together a strong weekend in Italy. We had a positive test at Misano a few weeks ago, and some of the things we worked on there also proved beneficial in Aragón, so we're confident we can take another step forward this weekend and continue improving our performance. It looks like it's going to be another hot weekend weather-wise, but we'll be ready for the challenge."

Stefano Manzi: "This will be my first home round in WorldSBK, so I'm really excited about it. We had a productive test at Misano a few weeks ago and believe there is still room for further improvement. We already made some progress in Aragón, and we're confident we can take another step forward and close the gap to the front. It's also the team's home round, so we're looking forward to welcoming all the fans who will come to support us. That gives us even more motivation to push harder. I can't wait to get back on track and start the weekend."
