Decent Recovery in the Superpole Race for GYTR GRT Yamaha on Final Day of 2026 Season in Jerez

The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team concluded its 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship campaign today at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto in Spain. On the final day of racing, both Remy Gardner and Stefano Manzi showed determination in the morning’s Superpole Race, recovering positions before facing a challenging Race 2.

Following the Warm-Up session, Manzi headed into the Superpole Race with confidence. Starting from 19th on the grid, the 2025 WorldSSP Champion pushed hard to make up five positions, crossing the finish line in 14th place after the 10-lap sprint. He continued to fight in Race 2, showing encouraging speed throughout the 20-lap contest. However, as grip became increasingly difficult to manage in the closing stages, he was unable to fight for points, eventually finishing 17th.

It was a challenging Sunday for Gardner on the other side of the garage. Starting from 17th, the Australian suffered a difficult start in the Superpole Race and had to fight his way through the field. Despite pushing hard, he eventually crossed the line in 17th place. In Race 2, he once again aimed to fight for a points-paying position, but grip issues in the second half of the race made progress difficult, leaving him 19th at the chequered flag.

Stefano Manzi – Superpole Race: P14 / Race 2: P17
“It wasn’t the end to the season we had all hoped for, but we have to accept it and move forward. It’s been a challenging rookie season for me, but I believe I’ve learned a lot throughout the year, and we’ve worked hard together with the whole team every day. I’d like to thank everyone for their commitment and hard work, as we always gave our best. Now, we’re already looking ahead to what comes next. We’re all eager to come back stronger, and we’ll soon be back on track to start preparing for the 2027 season in the best possible way.”

Remy Gardner – Superpole Race: P17 / Race 2: P19
“It’s been a very tough day overall. To be honest, we were expecting a little more from our performance, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and we struggled too much in both the Superpole Race and the final race of the season. This isn’t how we wanted to end the year, but we have to accept the result and look ahead to the next chapter. We’ll now enjoy the off-season, but we’ll soon be back on track to prepare for 2027, aiming to return stronger.”
