The Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team returns to action this weekend (10–12 July) at the iconic Donington Park circuit in Great Britain for Round 5 of the 2026 FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship, where Maria Herrera and the team have their first opportunity to clinch the world title with one round still remaining.
Reigning World Champion Maria Herrera heads to Great Britain after a flawless performance at the Misano World Circuit, where she completed a dominant double victory on the team's home weekend. The Spanish rider extended her lead in the championship standings and now arrives at Donington with the chance to secure the 2026 title on Sunday, provided she leaves the weekend with a championship advantage of at least 50 points following Race 2.
On the other side of the garage, teammate Natalia Rivera is equally motivated after showing encouraging pace during the previous round. The 19-year-old continues to close the gap to the front runners and is determined to fight for her first WorldWCR podium. Rivera is also eager to contribute valuable points towards the Teams' Championship, where the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team currently sits at the top of the standings.
The weekend schedule begins on Friday with Free Practice and Superpole, before Race 1 gets underway on Saturday at 13:00 local time. Race 2 will take place on Sunday, also at 13:00 local time.
Maria Herrera: "I'm really looking forward to racing at Donington Park after some week without racing and I took the chance to train and I feel ready for the UK Round in a track that I like a lot. We'll focus on working in the same way we've done all season, pushing as hard as we can and trying to get the maximum out of the weekend while enjoying every moment. We've had an incredible season so far and we want to keep this momentum going. We know we have the pace to fight for the victories again, but at the same time we're fully aware of how competitive the championship is, so we need to stay focused, keep working hard and not let our guard down."
Natalia Rivera: "I'm really excited to be back at Donington Park and race again. We're getting closer to the front every weekend, and now the goal is to turn our potential into results by fighting as close as possible to the podium, or hopefully even battling for it. We've made good progress throughout the season and I feel we have the pace to take another step forward. I raced here last year, so I already have some experience of the circuit, although we also know the weather can change very quickly at Donington. We'll have to be ready to adapt to any conditions, but we're prepared for that and I'm really motivated to get back on track in Great Britain."
