Remy Gardner and Stefano Manzi secured valuable championship points in Race 2 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, concluding the Portuguese round of the 2026 WorldSBK season with strong progress for the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team.




After making his Moto3 debut at the age of 16, Remy stepped up in Moto2 in 2016. In the following seasons he became a reference of the championship, winning his first podium in Argentina in 2019. In 2021 he was crowned Moto2 World Champion, eventually being promoted to the MotoGP class. In 2023 he makes his WorldSBK debut, achieving his maiden podium in 2024 in a very consistent season, followed by another one in 2025. The Australian rider is now ready to make himself a name in the WorldSBK paddock again.

He made his World Championshp debut in 2015 in Moto3, before moving up to Moto2, where he competed from 2017 to 2021. The following year, he stepped into WorldSSP and the SBK paddock, achieving strong results. In 2023, he switched to Yamaha, becoming vice-champion both that season and again in 2024. 2025 marked his breakthrough year, with 11 wins and 21 podiums, crowning him Champion. In 2026 he’ll step up to WorldSBK, where he has already impressed by finishing his first test in 3rd.

Maria Herrera claimed an excellent second-place finish on Sunday at Portimão, retaining the Championship lead for the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team after the opening round of the season. Teammate Natalia Rivera also delivered a solid performance, finishing seventh after showing consistent progression throughout the weekend.
