The Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team returned to action at the legendary Donington Park circuit for the latest round of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship, where Sara Sánchez delivered a strong performance to secure a front-row start in the Superpole session.
The weekend kicked off with Free Practice 1 at 09:40 local time. Both Sara Sánchez and Natalia Rivera showed promising pace on British soil. Sánchez (#64) impressed with the second-fastest time of 1’40.578, while Rivera (#20) ended the session in ninth, posting a 1’42.420.
Later in the day, at 14:10, the team headed back out for the crucial Superpole session. Both riders improved their lap times as they aimed for solid grid positions ahead of Race 1. Sánchez narrowly missed out on pole by just 0.241s but still secured a strong third place with a 1’39.928. Rivera delivered a solid run to qualify 11th, matching the lap time of the 10th-placed rider (1’42.160).
Sara Sanchez: P3 (1’39.928)
"First of all, it feels great to be back! We had a strong start this morning and kept improving throughout the day, finishing Superpole with a solid front-row position for Race 1. It’ll be important to stay with the leading group in the early laps and aim for the win or at least the podium. We’ll keep pushing to find more pace, but we’re ready for what’s ahead. I can’t wait to be back on track tomorrow!" Non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista domani!"
Natalia Rivera: P11 (1’42.160)
"Overall, it was a decent Friday. I felt good on the bike in the morning and, despite some traffic, I managed to put in a few quick laps. That gave me confidence for Superpole, where I improved my lap time. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to break into the Top 10 — even though I matched the same time as the 10th rider — but it was still a solid improvement. We’re learning and moving forward step by step, which is positive. I hope to fight for a good position tomorrow, I believe we can do it."
