The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team returned to action today at the Circuito do Estoril, Portugal, for the penultimate round of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship. Remy Gardner delivered a solid performance to secure ninth place in Race 1, adding valuable points to his championship tally.
After a strong showing in Free Practice 3, where the Australian rider was third fastest overall with a 1’35.570, Gardner carried his momentum into the Tissot Superpole session. Pushing hard during the 15-minute qualifier, the #87 posted a 1’35.319 to claim seventh on the grid and a promising third-row start.
In Race 1, Gardner made a clean launch and stayed with the leading group in the early laps before a red flag interrupted proceedings. The race was subsequently restarted and shortened to 20 laps. Once again, Remy made a strong getaway, maintaining competitive pace throughout the contest. Consistency and determination saw him bring home a solid ninth place finish.
Remy Gardner – Superpole: P7 / Race 1: P9
“It was a decent day overall, although we’re aiming for more. This morning’s Free Practice 3 went really well and gave us confidence ahead of Superpole. We just missed a fifth-place start by a few thousandths of a second, but it was still a strong lap. In Race 1, our pace was consistent from start to finish, even if we lacked a bit of speed compared to the front guys. We’ll keep working hard this afternoon to close the gap and come back stronger tomorrow.”
