The Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team returned to action after the summer break at the iconic Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours for the penultimate round of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship. Sara Sánchez and Natalia Rivera delivered a strong performance, securing a second-row start in the Superpole session.
The weekend began with Free Practice 1 at 09:00 local time, where both Sánchez and Rivera immediately showed competitive pace on French soil. Rider #64 Sánchez impressed with the second-fastest lap time of 1’54.642, while her 18-year-old teammate posted a 1’55.261 to finish sixth.
Later in the day, at 13:30, the team returned to the track for the crucial Superpole session, with both riders improving their lap times. Despite some late-session traffic hindering their fastest laps, Sánchez qualified fourth with a 1’52.266, narrowly missing out on the front row but still showing strong potential. Rivera also delivered her best performance of the season, qualifying sixth with a 1’53.011, and demonstrated that she still has more pace to unlock.
Sara Sánchez – P4 (1’52.266)
“Overall, it was a good qualifying, though it’s a little disappointing to miss the front row by such a small margin. Still, we’re very close and ready to fight. Our race pace looks strong, and we’re eager to show it tomorrow and on Sunday. We’ll keep working to make further improvements and then give everything in the races to achieve a strong result.”
Natalia Rivera – P6 (1’53.011)
“This is my best qualifying result so far, which is a very positive step. I’m happy, but not fully satisfied — and that’s a good thing because it means we’re closing the gap to the front. My ideal lap shows we have even more potential. Tomorrow, the goal is to stay as close as possible to the lead group, join the fight, and stay with them until the end. We need to stay focused and positive — we have what it takes!”
