The current defending world champion GRT Yamaha Official Team WorldSSP and Mark One, an innovative enterprise that designs and develops professional 3D printers, work together presenting for the first time a 3D printer inside the pit box.
Due to the presence of the 3D printer inside the pit box, GRT Yamaha and Mark One are able to print components that are assembled on the racing bike in real time, reducing production’s time and costs. The printer can be customise thanks to the complex geometries and the innovative materials that can be matched together.
Mark One is an innovative enterprise that designs and produces professional 3D printers, offering innovative solutions and materials. The company mission is to introduce innovation both in technologies and services in the 3D printing market.
Mark One is oriented to production and R&D of innovative technical materials. The company thinks that the additive manufacturing can be used not only in the prototype study but it can also be implemented in the production. Due to the versatility of its printers and the customisation of the components, Mark One works with different industrial sectors as the automotive, the product design, the medical and the aerospace.
The GRT Yamaha Official Time is proud of its former 125 and 250 racer Mirko Giansanti that now is the sporting and technical director, and it is also proud of Filippo Conti who is team manager. Before competing in the 2016 WorldSSP Championship the team, based in Terni, made progress in both Italian and European championships. The 2017 season has been perfect to the GRT Yamaha Team that conquered three titles on one of the most competitive racing classes. The first for the Team, the second for the French rider, Lucas Mahias, and the last one for the Head Office as Yamaha.
Due to the presence of the 3D printer inside the pit box, GRT Yamaha and Mark One are able to print components that are assembled on the racing bike in real time, reducing production’s time and costs.
This collaboration between Motorsport and 3D printing can start a real revolution in the racing world.
